Anna Poghosyan today turned her beloved job into a business engaged in the production of pastries in Qarinj community. Initially, she was producing pastries at home, but non-productive. Orders were mainly from residents of the community.
Gradually, the demand for the product grew, and Mrs. Anna decided to take up baking, turning it into a business involving 4 women from the community.
Today she has her own business, which was founded as a result of the grant got within Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project.
Before the Project there was no Bakery in Kharinj village and the bread was imported from Alaverdi. Thanks to the Project Anna established bakery in the village and provided 3 work places for other women from them village.
Cooperating with AYWA I gained important knowledge about the business sector. As a result I got my own business and used my skills to make a profit. “
Now Mrs. Anna's bakery produces also brown bread and lavash (Armenian traditional bread), which are packed and delivered to Tumanyan cluster different communities.
