Business Success Formula:
Being target-driven, industrious and having strong will: ability to face hardships
Stepanavan town faces the problem of employability because of which my family collapsed. There was time when I was in charge of selling agricultural and meat goods and production of semi-finished products. We launched our business on credit having to pay a very high interest rate. After three years my health deteriorated very unexpectedly and I had to undergo an immediate operation, hence I had to hold up my activities. And again my family faced an extreme hardship.
I was informed about Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) and it was at that point that I immediately came to Yerevan and visited AYWA office. I had a talk about my problems and aims and was able to feel the caring attitude of the whole staff. Getting acquainted with the projects of the organization my heart filled with faith. Immediately afterwards I participated in business trainings organized by AYWA in the framework of the “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” project. Upon termination, I handed over my business plan of launching a production line of semi-finished products and was awarded the grant.
Currently, the necessary facilities are already installed in my production line due to the efforts of the EU and the AYWA. Apart from my family members, I have one more employee. I am more than confident that alongside with expanding my production I will have new workplaces.
Due to the “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” project my family has been reunited. My son returned back after having been a migrant worker. At present all the members of my family work together with me to develop our business. “Hamegh khortik” (“Delicious morsel”) is known not only in Stepanavan town but also in other parts of the Republic.
The AYWA team encourage, train and transmit positive vibes through their incessant visits and meetings, events and discussions, professional trainigs.
I do encourage all Armenian women to join the AYWA, since this way we will be able to help each other and by combining our joint efforts more women will be able to be empowered economically.
