Self-confidence and faith in yourself

I have always loved pastry and used to bake different biscuits on different occasions. Receiving the consent of many and taking into account their recommendations I have decided to start my own business. However, I had to face many hardships since I lacked corresponding financial means and knowledge to run the business and operate efficiently.
In 2014 I was informed about the “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” project which is funded by the European Union and implemented by Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) in Lori region. I decided to participate. In the framework of the Project I took part in business and myriad professional trainings . Harvesting enough knowledge I handed in my business project which was approved of and I was awarded the grant. I was unable to hold my excitement; my century-old dream came true.
I have already founded pastry production line and am in charge of baking cakes for diverse occasions. Moreover, I also bake biscuits meant for different buffet-table occasions. The investment of the EU and AYWA has been enormous, since the main facilities and tools necessary for starting up were acquired by the grant awarded in the framework of the project.
The assistance of relatives the loved ones and friends is of undeniable importance on our path to success.
Based on my own experience, I would recommend to always moving forward and never surrender, to be self-confident and believe in own strengths. It is possible to reach the aim irrespective of hardships and temporary failures. Moreover, I do advise Armenian women to become member of AYWA since the latter creates huge opportunities and encourages development.
