Business Success Formula:
Dreams have power

I am Bella Vardumyan, I live in Akhtala town. Being a community resident I have been involved in farming for many years growing vegetables. Farming is the main occupancy of our community’s housewives, which gives the chance to supply their families with healthy food.In the course of time part of the crop was being sold. This fact encouraged me, as the demand from our community was rather high and this encouragement made me think about setting up my own business. My family members greatly supported me but I feared to bring my idea to life.
When I learnt that Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) and European Union were implementing the “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” project in our community, which gave a chance to women to participate in business trainings, to present business plans and to receive grants, I got very excited and decided to participate in the project.
We were studying the tools of starting and running a business for a month. The gained knowledge stock gave me confidence. In that phase I was not thinking about winning the plan, I was sure, that even if I didn’t get a grant, the knowledge that I had gained was irreplaceable.
At the end of the business trainings I presented the business plan on greenhouse industry. I was enthusiastic and confident. I believed that my plan was realistic. To my happiness, my opinion coincided with AYWA’s opinion who awarded me a grant to bring my old dream to life.
I have an experience of growing strawberries, broccoli, and Brussels sprout. Considering the fact that vegetable crop market and the facilities for growing it in greenhouses are comparatively new, I have plans to also develop non-traditional crop in future.
I am thankful to the project implementers for giving us the opportunity to get engaged in entrepreneurial activities. Thanks to this project I have gained the most important things in this world-knowledge, entrepreneurial experience, good partners and new network.
