Business Success Formula:
Diligence and Strong Will
I am Tatevik Vadanyan from Tashir town of Lori Region. I learned from Tashir territorial employment center that Armenian Young Women’s Association accomplishes a project in our city, which gives a chance to women to participate in business trainings , to present an innovative business idea, and to win a grant for starting or expanding a business. As I already had certain experience in the mentioned field, my family members gladly accepted my intention of both participating in the course and developing the business. At this time I already had my private business of running а pharmacy.
It was with great enthusiasm that I took part in the business trainings of “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” funded by Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) and European Union. Moreover, our cooperation was a success.
Being a pharmacist by my profession I work at the pharmacy that I run myself. Iissuing from the experience gained, I have arrived at the conclusion that the citizens of my town are in need of an oculist and the optician's. The oculist visited our town from Stepanavan or Vanadzor on exact days of a week. So my business project was designed based on the mentioned demand.
Thus by participating in the business course I got a chance to solve this problem. The presented business plan was approved and I received the grant for developing my business by including an ophthalmologic segment into it.
Now, adjacent to my chemist’s, I have already founded an ophthalmology service which is highly demand in our town. Due to the project I purchased anophthalmic equipment. So today, the customers and patients receive a wide range of ophthalmologic services, and consultations provided by professional oculists, who possess the modern methods of eyesight improvement and treatment. Moreover, in case of the necessity the patients are provided by glasses and optics.
Thanks to the “ Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” project I have obtained trust from my customers and awareness of my business has increased for about 30%. As a result of it I have had a chance to create new work places and to expand my current business. For my success I am thankful to AYWA and the EU. In the scope of possibilities that I possess I will do my best to provide more women with employment, and to develop the economy of our country. Today it is the key factor for the development of our country.
