Surenavan community of Ararat region is 65 years old. The community is located on Yerevan-Meghri interstate highway and has never had a bus stop.
I am Mane Shahverdyan and I have participated in various projects implemented by AYWA.
When I was informed about this Project, I have decided to come up with an initiative, which would have great social impact on community. My initiative was establishment of a bus stop in the village - on interstate highway.
Surenavan community now has a bus stop, thanks to “Promoting Women’s Participation on Local Level Through Social Entrepreneurship” Project.
Establishment of a bus stop had a great importance for the community. Surenavan Community Municipality has also contributed to this.
People do not stand at shops or under the trees and bushes to protect themselves from the rain and the sun. They wait for the bus at their community’s bus stop.
There is also another joyful fact. There is only one bus from Surenavan to Yerevan, once a day.
And now thanks to the established bus stop all the minibuses, cars that have a free space for passengers stop and transport people waiting at the bus stop.
