The British Council is pleased to announce a range of online teacher training courses in Armenia. We are calling for applications from English teachers for the following four courses
- TKT Essentials Module 1
- TKT Essentials Modules 2 and 3
- Primary Essentials
- Learning Technologies for the Classroom
Details on the syllabus for each course are provided here.
How are the online courses organised?
Each of the courses will last from 24 September to 10 December 2010 (approximately 11 weeks) and will be fully online. Participants will need to dedicate 4-7 hours per week (at any time convenient to participants, only once a while a group chat with a fixed time may be arranged by tutors).
Each participant is provided with a username and password in order to access the learning zone. During the course the participants will work through the materials according to a schedule, interacting with each other and led by an online tutor, who will moderate discussions, develop learning points, assess assignments and so on. While the course will be 100% online, there may be one or two optional face to face meetings for participants to discuss technical issues.
How do I know if I am eligible to participate?
All participants must be located in Armenia and must be teachers of English in an educational institution. This could be a state school, private language centre or other similar institution. All participants must also have sufficient knowledge of computers as well as the internet and must have a working email address which they check frequently. All technical issues, such as ensuring access to a computer with a good internet connection, are the responsibility of the participant. If you fulfil these criteria and are interested in one of the courses outlined, we would be happy to receive your application. Please note that we will not accept one participant for more than one course at a time.
How do I apply?
Interested applicants must fill in the application form Download Word document (MS Word 108 KB) and send it by email to at the latest by 12 noon on 14 September 2010 with the course name in the subject line.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered; it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the application is complete. Only selected applicants will be contacted. Please note that places are limited and in case of a large number of applications, participants may be interviewed on 15 or 16 September 2010.
What is the course fee?
Each of the online courses will be delivered for a nominal fee of 20,000 AMD per participant. The selected participants will be contacted with the bank detail information and must pay the course fee within 5 working days.
