Local Economic Development model café was held in Akhtala. This event was a round-table discussion with the purpose to brainstorm solutions for the economic problems in the communities.
The participants were Akhtala, Shamlugh, Mec Ayrum Chochkan, Neghoc communities’ representatives, heads of communities and spiritual pastor.
During the meeting participants presented competitive advantages of every community, defined the most important problems in the communities, suggested short term and long term solutions and discussed community economic development main directions.
“Local Economic Development model café was held within Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project. As a result of this event and a project will be developed Local Economic Development models for mentioned communities which will give an opportunity to our group and communities to develop further projects for the development of economy based on this models”. - said AYWA president Lilit Asatryan.
Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) has been implementing Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project in Lori Region since May 2013. The project duration is three years from May 2013 to May 2016.
The goal of the Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project is to promote the development of women’s social and economic capacities in Lori region and the improvement of women’s social and economic situation. The project partners are CISP organization, Lori Marzpetaran and Vanadzor municipality. The project is funded by the European Union.
