The project was supported by European Youth Foundation.
The project aimed: sharing with the experience and good practice on youth participation within the participants of the project to promote higher level of youth participation in different European countries.
Representatives from women and youth organizations participated in the meeting: from the Republic of Armenia, Greece, Finland, Lithuania, Turkey, Luxemburg, Georgia.
During the meeting the participants had an opportunity to introduce the others their organizations and good practice in the field of youth participation.
Ms Lilit Asatryan – the President of Armenian Young Women’s Association, welcomed the participants: “Youth participation is a tool which gives solutions of many other youth problems. And, it is a time for young people to become policy makers, instead of staying as policy consumers. Saying “youth participation” we understand also “young women’s participation”. And, this meeting is not only a share of experience but it is also a basis for further co-operation among the present organizations”.
The project participants were greeted also by Ms Susan Marukhyan – Director of CoE Information office in Yerevan, Mr Artak Davtyan – Chair of the Commision of Education, Science, Culture, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Mr Arsen Karamyan – Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Mr Sven Holdar – Democratization Officer of OSCE Yerevan office, Mr Nicholas Bruno – Director of US Peace Corps Armenia.
During the project the participants met also with Mr Armen Ashotyan – the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia. During this meeting issues were discussed concerning to the promotion of youth participation and regional and European co-operation.
