Signing the Memorandum of Understanding

On June 22 within the “Supporting Communities Resilience in The South Caucasus” project, Vayots Dzor municipality staff, representatives of Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Department, OXFAM, Armenian Young Women’s Association, “Support to Communities” Charitable NGO members met. The Acting Governor of Vayots Dzor Samvel Tarverdian, Head of Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Department Hakob Hakobyan and 10 community leaders involved in the project (Yelpin, Chiva, Khachik, Areni, Getap, Agarakadzor, Arpi, Artabuynk, Horbategh, Martiros) were also present in the meeting.
The purpose and implementation steps of the “Supporting Communities Resilience in The South Caucasus” project were presented to participants. The aim is to enhance the ability of local communities and organizations and to reduce their vulnerability to natural disasters.
Each side made a presentation of its duties and functions, after which the memorandum of understanding was signed between them. Sides agreed to cooperate and assist each other to contribute to the effective implementation of the project.
