TEAWAY Study Tour Yerevan

Representatives of TeaWay partners’ organizations from Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey took part in the Study Tour in Armenia, organized by AYWA. The study tour started with a presentation of Mrs. Gayane Mkrtchyan from the World Bank Group IFC. She presented Armenia Gender project which is being implemented by IFC and AYWA. The project had a focus on gender-specific assessment of the wild harvest sector. The presentation included some figures about current export-import capacity of green tea, spices and essential oils, market potential of berries and herbs gathering.

The second part of presentations was done by 2 herbal tea producers; “DARMAN” Tea and “LOVE” Tea. Mrs. Ruzanna Kartashyan cofounder of “DARMAN” Tea production presented their works, teas, syrups. Ms. Anahit Kirakosyan director of “LOVE” Tea, presented the social enterprise of herbal tea production, which involves women from all the regions of Armenia. She brought herbs, presented and suggested to have degustation of “LOVE” tea.

The next step was visits to “Haleb” spices, sweets and tea coffee specified shop, “Cantata” tea coffee specified shop, “Nairian” natural cosmetics store in Yerevan.
The Study Tour ended with visit to Gegharquniq region meeting with “Sareri bariq” tea producer at the factory.
