AIWA San Francisco Affiliate Establishes Partnerships in Armenia

On July 3, 2012 AIWA San Francisco affiliate President, Gaiane Khachatrian, the President of Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) Lilit Asatryan and the Chief Executive Officer of SEF International, Garegin Gevorgyan established a partnership to work collaboratively to promote the economic advancement of Armenian women and their families by developing joint programs related to enhancing Armenian women’s access to funding, micro-loans, general marketplace and educational programs focused on job creation.

Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA), is an Armenia-based non-profit, non-governmental organization with a mission to lead social change and achieve equality of opportunity and reward for all women in Armenia. “It is a great privilege for us to have the opportunity of working with AIWA SF and SEF International to develop programs addressing Armenian women’s needs”, remarked Lilit Asatryan, the President of AYWA. “I believe that women not only have a great mission in the family, but also in the society, and if given the opportunity and means they will create miracles”.

”SEF International UCO” LLC, is the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision International Vision Fund, based in Armenia, whose mission is to extend business development and financial services to emerging entrepreneurs in search of productive opportunities to support families and communities striving for decent life for children in Armenia. “We are excited to partner with like-minded organizations in implementing the joint mission of empowering the underserved, and women in particular”, noted Garegin Gevorgyan, the CEO of SEF International.
